West Central Florida's only pediatric emergency room
We know bringing your seriously injured or ill child to the ER can be frightening and stressful for both you and your child. As the only pediatric ER in Hernando County, you can be sure your child is getting the emergency care they need at Oak Hill Hospital's Pediatric Emergency Room.
Our goal is to treat your child while minimizing their pain, discomfort and anxiety.
If you think your child may be experiencing a medical emergency, immediately call 911.
Our specially designed children's ER
Our pediatric ER was designed with attention to the small details that make a big difference to children and their families. We provide care in eight private pediatric emergency treatment rooms to protect your child's privacy and accommodate family members.
Our pediatric treatment and activity areas are separate from the emergency area, preventing children from witnessing potentially alarming adult emergencies.
We offer child-friendly decor, child-sized furniture and activity room stocked with toys, games and colorful artwork for patients and siblings.
The Pediatric Emergency Room is open from 11:00am - 11:00pm, seven days a week.
If your child needs to be admitted to the hospital, you can trust they will receive compassionate, expert care in our secure, pediatric unit right upstairs. Additionally, we provide emergency care 24/7 in our general ER.
Expert pediatric emergency care
Your child will benefit from the private, child-centered design our pediatric ER, along with compassionate pediatric expertise of our board-certified physicians and nurses during his or her medical emergency.
Our pediatric emergency team is made up of board-certified pediatricians and pediatric emergency nurses. We are committed to providing children—from infancy to early adulthood—specialized care in a friendly environment.
All procedures are performed under the direct supervision of an emergency medicine physician. All our nurses are certified in pediatric advanced life support (PALS).
