The Internal Medicine Residency Program at Oak Hill Hospital offers the contemporary 4 + 1 rotation schedule that consists of 10 (4 - week) inpatient / subspecialty elective rotations throughout the academic year with 1 – week outpatient rotation between each inpatient rotation.

Continuity Clinic

During the continuity clinic week, residents have 10 half-day sessions: one half-day session dedicated to their outpatient quality improvement project; one half-day session dedicated to administrative skills; and, 5 half-day sessions dedicated to their longitudinal continuity experience. This averages out to 60 sessions/year, averaging 180 over 3 years. This structure enables the resident to develop continuous healing relationships with their panel of patients. With faculty support, residents learn to independently manage their panel of patients and to experience the joy of continuity of care.
