What Our Program Offers

Our program has a very close relationship with the other GME Programs: Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Transitional Year, Anesthesiology, and Podiatry. As such, our residents are exposed to the breadth and depth of a vast amount of disease processes.

  • Excellent, well-rounded clinical experience in all areas of Emergency Medicine
  • Hands on teaching approach
  • Dedicated, experienced teaching faculty
  • Emphasis on bedside training
  • Electronic Medical Record Keeping
  • A great place to both work and play!

We believe the best way to learn medicine is one patient at a time, treating the whole patient, not the symptom.

Our formal didactic curriculum continues throughout the three-year residency and includes an exceptional series of grand rounds; board review conference with an extensive collection of practice questions; evidence-based journal club; weekly ambulatory conference, and other related conferences to round out a resident’s education.

Our faculty members teaching approach help residents grow professionally and personally into fine physicians. They are eager to share their knowledge and experience with you.

Skills and Simulation

BLS, ACLS & PALS certification is a prerequisite to starting a residency and will be a part of the orientation week. Intubation and Ultrasound as well as other procedural skills will be taught during our joint boot camp with other HCA West FL Consortium Programs.

Skills workshops will be conducted throughout the academic year.
