Message from Dr. Jeffrey Huang, Program Director

Thank you for your interest in our Anesthesiology Residency. We are training physician leaders to practice top–notch, evidence-based medicine. Newly accredited, this residency is the fifth training program to come to fruition at our hospital in the last four years. The future of graduate medical education at Oak Hill Hospital is bright; we are excited that you are considering joining us!

I am honored to be the Program Director for our Anesthesiology Residency. Our current program is a categorical 6 residents per year program. We are successful in filling our residency in 2018. All residents are fully integrated into our clinical environment as well as the clinical environment at our affiliated medical centers.

The scope of practice of anesthesiology has exploded over the last ten years. In addition to the practice of hospital-based anesthesiology, a variety of anesthetic services are provided at additional sites on a daily basis. Our anesthesiologists provide clinical service for the full range of surgical cases, to include anesthesia for cardiac surgery, obstetrics, pediatrics and neurosurgery, as well as regional anesthesia for orthopedic surgery. By virtue of our community–based program and the diversity of our training sites, our graduates are uniquely positioned to use their training immediately or pursue further subspecialty training and fellowship opportunities. We place patient and family–centered care above anything else. We focus on professionalism, collaboration, and teamwork, therefore the residents can develop into physicians who are prepared for leadership roles.

At Oak Hill Hospital, we are proud to be a member of the HCA West Florida Graduate Medical Education Consortium. Accordingly, we are able to leverage the expertise at a host of hospitals and medical centers beyond the front doors of Oak Hill Hospital. In addition, within the last year, HCA West Florida has entered into an agreement with the University Of South Florida Morsani College Of Medicine to provide graduate medical education in West Florida; this is truly a dynamic period in graduate medical education!

Faculty achievements include publications, research accomplishments, and regional and national society engagements. Our faculty works as partners with residents to provide excellent clinical care and education.

We look forward to receiving your applications and hosting you for an interview.
