Spring Hill, Florida (September 14, 2016) - Oak Hill is pleased to announce the appointment of Melanie Wetmore, MSN, RN, CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse), NE-BC (Nurse Executive-Board Certified), as Assistant Chief Nursing Officer. Ms. Wetmore comes to Oak Hill Hospital from Memorial Hospital of Tampa, a sister HCA facility, where she served as Emergency Department Director. Ms. Wetmore has approximately 20 years of experience in emergency care. She began her career in Rochester and served in emergency nursing in Torrance, California, Tucson, Arizona, and Tampa, Florida.
Ms. Wetmore holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing and a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from the State University of New York College at Brockport in Brockport, New York. She attained a Master of Science degree in nursing leadership from Jacksonville University in Jacksonville, and is scheduled to complete her doctorate of nursing practice degree at Walden University, Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2017.
Ms. Wetmore is a board certified nurse executive, certified emergency nurse, and holds certification in advanced cardiac life support, basic life support, and pediatric advanced life support. She is also a trauma nursing core course educator.
