Oak Hill Hospital Announces Orthopaedic & Emergency Nurses Certifications

Spring Hill, FL – Oak Hill Hospital announces that five of its nurses have achieved additional certifications in their areas of specialty. Venus Morejon, RN and Tina Roehrig were recently awarded their orthopaedic nurse certifications and are now entitled to use the credentials RN, ONC. To be a certified orthopaedic nurse requires a minimum of two years’ experience with over 1,000 hours in orthopaedics. You must sit and pass a separate exam in orthopaedics which includes trauma, sports injuries, pediatrics, oncology, and other disciplines.

In addition, three RNs from Oak Hill Hospital’s emergency department were awarded their certification as emergency nurses. Kelly Holbert, Chris Piscopo, and Rachel Vazquez, all RNs, are now entitled to also add the credential CEN® (Certified Emergency Nurse) after their names. Certified Emergency Nurse Certification is the certification specific to emergency nursing and measures the attainment of a defined body of nursing knowledge pertinent to the particular specialty. 100% of Oak Hill Hospital’s Emergency Care Center nurses are Certified Emergency Nurses.
Oak Hill Hospital’s Orthopaedic Institute now maintains 19 certified orthopaedic nurses, representing the most certified orthopaedic nursing staff in Florida.
