Oak Hill Hospital Announces Its Associates of the Month
Oak Hill Hospital has announced its Star Associates of the Month of November. Each month hospital associates are chosen in a process that involves nominations and voting by their peers, patients, patient families, and physicians.
This month’s Oak Hill Hospital “Stars” are:
Tammy Lwyzykowski, RT(r)(CT)(Radiology Technologist, Certified in Radiology and CT Scans)
Tammy joined Oak Hill Hospital’s radiology staff in 2001 where she conducts CT scans, MRIs and x-rays. She and her husband, Mark, live in Spring Hill and they have one daughter, Jessica. Tammy’s nomination came from coworkers who praised her enthusiasm for doing the best to service our patients. “She assists doctors and nurses and helps everyone and has a reputation for double checking all orders. Tammy finds a way to maximize during the busiest of times.” Tammy has a reputation for ensuring that her patients receive the best care and service. For her part Tammy says that the thing she likes best about Oak Hill Hospital is the great learning opportunities available.
John Young, CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant)
John began working on Oak Hill Hospital’s third floor medical unit on January 4 of this year. He and his wife, Tonya, live in Brooksville. His immediate family consists of his mother, Allena Young, his sister, Laura Stillwell, and his brother, Frank Young. As a CNA he views his role as assisting patients and nurses in getting vitals, specimens for testing and “making sure the patient is comfortable and feels secure.” John received several nominations from patients, their families, and coworkers. Comments from his nominations included: “He is always there when you need a nurse and does not leave your side until all your needs are met…He is a saint and an angel…He helps all patients even when they are not assigned to him…His attitude and smile make you want to get well…He is respectful to the patient and their family…He goes above and beyond his job description and is a pleasure to work with…He deserves recognition.” For his part John says the he enjoys “working with people who are very professional and compassionate about their work.”
Barbara Dwyer, RN
Barbara joined the third floor medical unit in August of 2001. She is currently a charge nurse where she assists with and oversees the care of adult medical and surgical patients. She lives in Spring Hill and has four children: Tommy, 20, Patrick, 18, Scott, 13, and one daughter, Devon, 17. Her nomination came from a patient who praised her compassion and how she helped her get control of her pain. “She never gave up on me.” “We love Barbara. She is a very caring nurse.” About Oak Hill Hospital she says that “it is the teamwork and the dedication of her coworkers and knowing we made a difference that makes each working day fulfilling and rewarding, during these full and busy days.”
In making the announcement Oak Hill Hospital’s Chief Operating Officer Sonia Gonzalez said, “Dr. Thomas Frist, Senior, our founder, always believed that ‘Good people beget good people.’ People like Tammy, John and Barbara prove that Oak Hill Hospital will continue the legacy.”
