Spring Hill, FL – Oak Hill Hospital announces that it will continue its popular For Your Health community education program. On Tuesday, March 25, 2014, from 5:30 pm to 7 pm, Oak Hill Hospital will present “Advances in General Surgery & Hereditary Breast and Ovarian Cancer” at Silverthorn Country Club, 4550 Golf Club Lane, Brooksville, Florida 34609. The program will be presented by Santosh Potdar, MD, FACS (Fellow of the American College of Surgeons) and Alene Wright, MD, FACS.
Dr. Santosh Potdar is board certified in general surgery and on staff at Oak Hill Hospital. He will discuss the many advances in general surgery. Some of the surgical procedures he will discuss include: gallbladder surgery; hernia surgery; colon/rectal surgery; stomach surgery; liver/pancreas surgery; spleen surgery; small intestinal surgery; thyroid/parathyroid surgery; and hiatal hernia surgery.
Dr. Alene Wright is also board certified in general surgery and a breast surgeon on staff at Oak Hill Hospital. She will discuss hereditary breast and ovarian cancers (HBOC). Those who attend will learn what causes HBOC and how HBOC is inherited and how common it is. She will also discuss the identification process and the various treatment plans available.
