Carlos Cardona, ADN, RN Appointed as Director of Intensive Care Services

Spring Hill, FL – Oak Hill Hospital announces the appointment of Carlos Cardona, ADN, RN (Associate Degree in Nursing, Registered Nurse) as Director Intensive Care Services. As director of the MCCU and SICU, Mr. Cardona will be overseeing and managing the intensive care nursing program, and ensuring that Oak Hill Hospital’s customers’ expectations are exceeded at each and every encounter.
Mr. Cardona was promoted from his position as staff nurse in the intensive care nursing program at Oak Hill Hospital. He has served in the healthcare industry since 1995, beginning as a paramedic and working his way into nursing. He joined the Army/Air Force in 1999 and is currently responsible for supervising and training a 54 person company of both military and civilian personnel setting up an intermediate care unit (PCU). While serving our country, Mr. Cardona also achieved a rank of platoon sergeant with the top secret security clearance. He has been recognized as a battalion level drug prevention leader, company paramedic and financial manager/controller.
Mr. Cardona is a familiar face at Oak Hill Hospital. He began working in the MCCU and was instrumental in assisting with the development of the Vascular Access Team. “His passion lies with giving the patient an unforgettable experience with not only their care but also with the nursing staff,” said Ralph Taylor, Oak Hill Hospital’s Associate Chief Nursing Officer. “I am confident that his record of success and hard work will continue as he develops his team in the MCCU/SICU.
