Spring Hill, FL – Oak Hill Hospital announces that it will continue its popular For Your Health Community Education Series. On Tuesday, November 12, 2013 from 5:30 pm to 7 pm, David D. Buethe, MD will present “Urology; What is it? Does it involve you?” at the Plantation on Crystal River, 9301 W. Fort Island Trail, Crystal River, Florida 34429. David D. Buethe, MD is a urologist and urologic oncologist. After completing medical school at the University of South Florida, Dr. Buethe completed his surgical internship and urology residence at the University of Oklahoma. He then spent an additional two years at the Moffitt Cancer Center learning advanced surgical techniques specifically targeting urological oncology. In doing so he also became proficient at robotic assisted laparoscopic procedures using the da Vinci® system.

Dr. Buethe will discuss what a urologist has to offer. He will summarize the various types of patients and disease processes that benefit from urologic intervention.
His training has allowed him to bring to Oak Hill Hospital advanced urological surgical procedures that are often found only in academic centers. He will provide his insight into the controversy surrounding PSA screening and management strategies of cancers of the urinary tract. Specifically, he will discuss the role of partial nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and cystectomy. He will also discuss how he utilizes robot assisted laparoscopic procedures. Dr. Buethe will also discuss common complaints of urinary incontinence, urinary frequency, and pelvic organ prolapse and will present many of the available treatment options.
